The Master's Award was established in Illinois in 1983 by Master Ben Daniel. The
awards are set of awards acknowledging the outstanding service of
a Fourth Degree member for his dedication to his parish,
community, as well as the Knights of Columbus.
Each Assembly annually selects their most outstanding
Sir Knight(s) and submits the name for consideration to
the Master for presentation of this award
at the Exemplification Banquet.

The original award created in 1983 by Master Ben Daniel was
named "The Master's Medallion" and is displayed below.
The award was changed in 2010 by Master Paul Isherwood to the Master's Award.
Supreme had expressed that the medallion was not considered a part of the official
uniform and could not be worn while in regalia. The new award was Christopher
Columbus bust with a name plate identifying the award recipient as pictured below.
The award was changed again in 2017 by Master Frank Rossi. Many of the awards received
were damaged in shipping and the manufacturer was changed by Supreme. A new acrylic
award was designed and is currently being distributed as the Master's Award.
Since 1983, 775 Sir Knights have received these awards. The list of the recipients can
be downloaded below.
